    Fishing tips

    • Cold, clear lakes — early ice-out lakers stay shallow for two weeks, then plummet.
    • Algonquin brook trout responds to small streamers and slow-trolled spoons.
    • Run the narrows between Peninsula and Fairy — the current pulls baitfish through and predators wait on the edges.
    • Access: Public launch access near the Deerhurst Resort area.
